What to Pack for Great Hair on Your Summer Vacation.

Don't Let Bad Hair Days Crash Your Vacation Vibe

Summer travel is all about sunshine, adventures, and taking a break from your everyday routine. One thing that should not be taking a break is your hair care! Whether you are hitting the beach, exploring a new city, or relaxing poolside, packing smart is the key to keeping your hair looking its best. Here is your go to guide for a perfect travel hair kit with products straight from our boutique inside Rachel Blythe Studio.

  1. Mini Shampoo & Conditioner (sulfate-free, please!)

Travel-sized bottles of your usual shampoo and conditioner are a must. Especially if you are color-treated or curly. Skip the hotel products that can dry out your hair or may contain added sulfates and may not be color safe. Here are some of our favorites from Pureology, Verb, and Olaplex.
Pro Tip: Choose a formula with UV protection or moisture boosting ingredients for extra defense against the sun and saltwater's.

  1. Dry Shampoo = Lifesaver

Dry shampoo is your BFF for long flights, hot weather, or skipping wash days. It will refresh your roots, add volume, and absorb oil. All in one spritz.

  1. Leave-In Conditioner or Hair Oil

Sun, wind, and chlorine can wreak havoc on your ends. A lightweight leave-in spray or nourishing oil will help tame frizz, prevent breakage, and keep your hair touchably soft

Bonus: Many leave-ins also protect against UV rays

  1. Heat Protectant Spray

If you plan to style your hair with heat tools (or if you are just under the hot sun all day), do not forget a travel size thermal protectant. It's the best way to prevent damage while keeping your look sleep and polished.

  1. Your Go-To Styling Tools

Consider a compact blow dryer, flat iron, or curling wand if you rely on them. But try to go heatless, when possible, to give your hair a vacation too. A few elastics, a silk scrunchie, or heatless curl systems will go a long way!

Pro Tip: If you have K-Tips, I-Tips, or a Volume Weft make sure to completely blow-dry your hair if you are in an out of water! Blow-dry at the roots to prevent slippage from a weakened bond, avoid tangled hair, and prevent possible mildew/mold growing enjoinment.

Bonus: Create Your Own Hair Travel Kit!

Stop by our salon and boutique and we will help you pick out the best products from our selection of minis for your travel kit filled with stylist approved minis, including
